Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday April 17. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

Among the new arrivals during the week were PURPLE MARTIN, CASSIN?S and
WARBLING VIREOS, HOUSE WREN, and VAUX?S SWIFTS. There was also a heavy
GREATER YELLOWLEGS movement.

On April 9 two BROWN PELICANS were at Clatsop Beach near Warrenton. One was
at Cape Meares April 12. On April 15 a PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER was at New
River south of Bandon. A WILSON?S WARBLER was near Powers April 13.

Two SOLITAIRES were at Portland?s Riverview Cemetery April 13. A CALLIOPE
HUMMINGBIRD was at Mt. Tabor in southeast Portland April 15.

YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS are now back at the Breidwell Road Marsh west of
Amity, at Farmer Road near Baskett Slough NWR, and at Fern Ridge Reservoir.

Eight BLACK-NECKED STILTS were at the end of Duckflat Road, ten miles SE of
Salem April 16. On April 13 a LAPLAND LONGSPUR and a GRAY FLYCATCHER were at
Detroit Flats in the Cascades east of Salem. A BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER was at
Ankeny NWR April 13. A BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER, two BLACK-NECKED STILTS, and
two BLACK TERNS were at Fern Ridge Reservoir during the week.

Three LONG-BILLED CURLEWS, two BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS, and six BLACK-NECKED
STILTS were at the Kirtland Road Sewage Ponds in White City during the week..

The CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRDS are now back at the Indian Ford Creek Crossing
north of Sisters. During the week up to five BLACK-NECKED STILTS and several
BANK SWALLOWS were at Hatfield Lake near Bend. On April 11 four BLACK-NECKED
STILTS were at Huston Lake near Powell Butte and two AVOCETS were at the
Prineville Sewage Ponds. TRICOLORED BLACKBIRDS are now back at their nesting
sites at the Painted Hills National Monument near Mitchell.
