Subject: RBA: possible Vega Herring Gull at Bowker Creek, Oak Bay BC

I snapped a few shots of an unfamiliar-looking immature gull today at near
the mouth of Bowker Creek. When I got home and reviewed the pics, it became
apparent that the bird may be a "Vega" Herring Gull. It looks "just like
the picture in the book" (Sibley), therefore I'm suspicious.

A couple of photos of the bird are posted at

I would comments on my identification of this creature.

Cheers,
