On April 4, Nancy Stansbury reported that GREAT EGRETS had returned to the
nesting area on the island across from the 300 Area on March 28 and that
BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS returned on April 4.

Also on April 4, Bob Woodley noted 8 AMERICAN AVOCETS as well as
VIOLET-GREEN and NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOWS at the Yakima Delta and 2
BLACK-NECKED STILTS at the Acme Asphalt Plant.

Dennis Johnson noted a RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH in his Richland yard on April 4.

Ruth Fischer observed YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS at the Acme Plant and a
LONG-BILLED CURLEW near Webber Canyon on April 5. On April 6, she noted
the return of an OSPREY to the nesting platform south of Chamna.

Bob Woodley and Katie Crowley found 1 CASPIAN TERN, 1 GREATER YELLOWLEGS,
and AMERICAN AVOCETS at the Yakima Delta as well as a male CINNAMON TEAL, 1
OSPREY and 40 DUNLIN at the Acme plant on April 8.

Sightings of leucistic or light plumaged birds were high this report
period. June Baldwin reported a pale AMERICAN CROW in Ranch Reata on April
10. Wayne Heinz noted the continued presence of a pale AMERICAN CROW in
North Richland on April 17. Also on that day he saw an albino RING-NECKED
PHEASANT at Howard Amon Park.

On April 10, Mary Lilga saw a TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE at Wallace and Davison
Streets in North Richland.

On April 16, Nancy LaFramboise reported 200 DUNLIN at the Yakima Delta as
well as CANADA GEESE with goslings. On April 17, Nancy LaFramboise and
Ruth Fischer found 3 FORSTER'S TERNS there.
