I just returned from a ten day Vancouver Audubon Chapter birding
trip to Southern Florida organized by Arden and Sherry Hagen. There the
birding conditions were much like here with few migrating birds and many
birders waiting for their arrival. We encountered few neotropical
migrants, one Worm-eating Warbler, a Blue Grosbeak, and two Summer
Tanagers. We only saw a total of seven warbler species but did find two
Greater Flamingos, Royal Terns, Snail Kites,Yellow-chevroned Parakeet,
Mangrove Cuckoo, Antillean Nighthawk, Gray Kingbird, Black-whiskered
Vireo, and Shiny Cowbird among the 142 species recorded.
