Hi Brendan. If you want a university that's big on birds, I would
suggest checking out Cornell University in upstate NY. It probably has
the top ornithology lab in the country.

Subject: Off-topic:College Suggestions

Hey Tweets,
Being a Junior in High School I have been thinking
about a lot colleges lately. Anyway I sent out a query on Teen Bird
Chat and got some good results but being kids that are in or going into
college their suggestions aren't nearly as useful as I suspect
suggestions from Tweets would be. I don't wanna clog the listserve with
off-topic e-mails so if people feel this is far too off topic then i
would appreciate it if you all could just send e-mails directly to me.
Anyway as far as colleges go I am not really concerned whether is is
big or small and I think I would be happy anywhere except for the South
East (no offense but it is far too humid there for my fair Irish Blood).
What I am having trouble figuring out is what are good environmental
colleges, I know colleges that are good for Biology but thats not
necessarily what I want to go into. By no means do i want to take
pre-med courses for biology. Maybe I am looking for a degree in
something other than direct biology, you tell me, but I know birds and
the environment are what I want to study.
Anyway, thanks in advance for any suggestions or advice people have.
Brendan
