On March 22, 2000, Hugh Jennings and I saw a leucistic Red-winged Blackbird
at Crescent Lake, Two Rivers management area, near Monroe Honor Farm,
Snohomish. The red-wing is there again this year. Its call sounds like
other red-wings. The head and throat are dark. The breast is white with
heavy, wavy brown streaks on the breast and flanks. Outer tail feathers are
white as is the rump. There are red and yellow shoulder patches. I was
unable to get "good" digital pictures. It's a beautiful bird.
