Yesterday, we observed an odd sight: a Canada goose roosting (nesting?) at
the tippy-top of a 60+ foot snag. This was on the Stampede Pass road that
is just south of I-90.

The goose was so still for so long, that at first we thought it was a decoy,
though how it would have been placed that high up was beyond our
imagination. However, when some crows flew by, the goose moved its head, so
it was "real". It was all hunkered down, as if nesting, though the top of
the snag was fairly narrow at that point.

Is this common behavior for Canada geese?
