Subject: [BIRDCHAT] RFI: Window glass research in Oregon

My city is starting a new housing development right on our migration pathway here in Duluth. The city is eager to help in any easily manageable way to minimize bird kills associated with windows on the houses. Someone at Marvin Windows told them about a research project they're doing in Oregon to develop glass that will minimize bird kills. Does anyone know anyone who is working on this project? I've contacted Dr. Daniel Klem about the situation, and he is extremely helpful, but this particular project is apparently not one he's connected with.

There is symbolic as well as actual beauty in the migration of the birds
There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature-the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after the winter.
