Hello All,
This morning MerryLynn and I birded along Upper Dry Creek south of Dixie. The road to the Green-tailed Towhees. and found 6+ Orange-crowned Warblers, 1 Hammonds Flycatcher, 1 male Calliope Hummingbird, 1 drumming Ruffed Grouse, 1 singing House Wren. And just 1500 feet above the road is 3+inches of SNOW! Is this spring?

All day yesterday and this afternoon 35+ passerines were banded in our garden here in College Place by master bander Stacy Peterson. Species banded were: White-crowned Sparrow, Lincolns Sparrow, Am.Goldfinch, Red-winged Blackbird, Black-capped Chickadee, House Finch, English Sparrow. It was pouring buckets most of yesterday and clear and blue today. So watch for banded White-crowns north of Walla Walla. Good birding!
Later Mike
