Sightings for April 26
In the fields N. of Robert Lake, in Kelowna, was a lone SANDHILL CRANE (RT).
The first LESSER YELLOWLEGS of the season was reported at Robert Lake as
well (RT).
At km 11 on Beaver Lake Road, E. of Winfield, was a BLUE GROUSE (TF).
N. of Osoyoos, a LONG-BILLED CURLEW was seen along Road 22 (BL).
A pair of WOOD DUCKS are being seen along Mill Ck from Brookside Ave, in
Kelowna (DA).
On April 25, numbers of NASHVILLE WARBLERS and BROWN-HEADED COWBIRDS were
noted in Okanagan Mountain Park, near Kelowna (CC).
Sightings for April 24
An AMERICAN WHITE PELICAN was seen from the end of Truswell Road, in
Kelowna, sitting on the sand bar at the mouth of Mission Ck (HV). Another,
or possibly the same bird, was seen soaring over the Kelowna General
Hospital on Pandosy St. later in the day (CC).
At the Maude Roxby Bird Sanctuary in Kelowna, was the first HAMMOND'S
FLYCATCHER, a "Myrtle" race YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER (CC), 7 AMERICAN AVOCETS
and an adult MEW GULL (HV).
A breeding plumage DUNLIN, 19 AMERICAN AVOCETS, a male WOOD DUCK and an
adult GOLDEN EAGLE were reported at Alki Lake, at the Kelowna Dump (HV).
Three EVENING GROSBEAKS were at a feeder along Black Road in Kelowna's
Ellison area (TF).
