Hello Tweeters,

I took a quick trip out to the Brady Loop complex and Wenzel Slough Rd. area this morning. At about 6:15am it was dry but by 7:00am it was raining off and on. I didn't find any new arrivals to report. There were lots of active birds all over the area this morning. My main highlights were the following:

Along Foster Rd:
Greater Yellowlegs (declining numbers in the flooded grassy field)
Short-billed Dowitcher
Black-bellied Plover - I've looked for the possible golden but have not seen any as reported earlier
Red-tailed Hawk

Brady Loop Rd:
Downy Woodpecker
Killdeer (quite vocal)

Wenzel Slough Rd:
single male Cinnamon Teal
Dunlin
Western Sandpiper
7 Turkey Vultures roosting in a tree (I've seen them in the same tree off and on this year and last year)
6 Virginia Rails heard calling

Also, on April 27th I spotted two Evening Grosbeaks in the top of a tree across the street from my house. This is the first record I have of them this year.
