Hello this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report

On April 23 a GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE was in Ashland. It could not be
relocated.

Among the arriving migrants during the week were WESTERN TANAGERS, BULLOCK?S
ORIOLES, BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAKS, and LAZULI BUNTINGS. There was a
conspicuous movement of WHITE-FRONTED GEESE and a number of SOLITARY

Banks.

A HEERMANN?S GULL was near Bandon April 27. A flock of 12 WHITE-FACED IBIS
was reported April 30 at Newport. A pair of TRUMPETER SWANS were at
Brownsmead, east of Astoria April 27.

A BREWER?S SPARROW was in Scappoose Bottoms April 29. Mt. Tabor in Portland
was good during the week; on April 24 two HAMMOND?S and a DUSKY FLYCATCHER
were seen there. A YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD visited a Forest Grove feeder
April 26.

On April 26 a LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE was near Brownsville, north of Eugene. Two
BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS were at Finley NWR April 26. The next day a GOLDEN
EAGLE was there. A BLACK-CHINNED HUMMINGBIRD was in Eugene April 27.

A WHITE-FACED IBIS was near Powell Butte April 24. Another was at Hatfield
Lake near Bend April 26. A flock of at least 150 GRAY-CROWNED ROSY-FINCHES
was near Bachelor butte, southwest of Bend during the week. TRICOLORED
BLACKBIRDS are now back at their nesting marsh near the junction of I84 and
Hwy 207 near Pendleton.

Lower Klamath NWR is very good at this time. During the week 153 FRANKLIN?S
GULLS, 106 MARBLED GODWITS, 285 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS, 300 BLACK-NECKED
STILTS, two WHIMBREL, and several SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHERS were reported.

That?s it for this week.
