Hello again, Tweeters,
I spotted a COMMON TERN hunting Thursday evening at 5 p.m. at Carkeek Park.
Again, Friday morning around 9:30 I saw a COMMON TERN hunting with some circling
gulls over the ferry dock at Edmonds. They are able to bend the neck and look
down, making them easy to distinguish from the variety of gulls. The one at
Carkeek also performed with surprising hovering ability. Lots of HEERMANN'S GULL
streaming north past the Edmonds pier and two male SURF SCOTER flying south on
the 24th. Also, Friday at the marsh brief look at a DOWITCHER seen first by Ted
Peterson, a RAIL and regular PEEPS there.
Good birding,
Patricia
