I tried sending this message last evening, only to find out I can't send
messages without subscribing. So....sorry about the delay. Hopefully the
bird will still be there for y'all to see.

My wife Marilyn Miller is visiting her friend Pam in Seattle this weekend,
and found an adult SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHER at a wildlife
sanctuary there. It was located near the University of Washington at or near
the Center for Urban Horticulture. She reports that it is in the south and
west portion of the trail that leads from the Center about midway along the
trail. It was flycatching from a tree facing the water.

It was described by Marilyn and Pam to have a white head blending into a
coral pink breast. Most notably it had a long, split tail. It did not
vocalize. Marilyn has seen Scissor-tailed Flycatcher in Texas, and has no
doubt as to the identity of this bird.

They did not see any other birders around, so this may not have been
reported yet. They saw it at about 4 PM yesterday, (Saturday, August 2). I
am not a subscriber to Tweeters (except for this message), but would be
interested in hearing if anyone finds this bird again--so cc any messages
about this bird to me.
