Rob says, "Of course its probably both, but if you had to pick one or the
other, what's your thinking?" I'd bet this is primarily covered by the PPT
(Patagonia Picnic Table) Effect. Interesting habitat, sure, but lots of
knowledgeable eyes, looking often. I think I have the same effect here at
home: since I don't run off to work every day now, I've seen more species
lately just because I've been here. I don't think the habitat has changed
much. I suspect that if some people became interested in just about any
reasonably natural spot and went there often, they would accumulate a
surprisingly good list. Might be an interesting experiment.
