My family and I spent a beautiful day at Paridise in search of the
Ptarmigan, but had no success. We arrived at 9am, and were at "the usual
spot" by 10:30. We started down at 1pm. We did see pipits and rosy
finch as a consolation prize. There were at least two other birders "on
station" when we arrived, and they had not seen the ptarmigan either.
They went later up on the high trail, and I do not know if they saw any
birds.
