Hi Tweeters,

I wouldn't post this but posting have been a bit light. I enjoyed the Kent/Auburn post by the Sullivan's. The Boeing Pond they visited are one of my all time favorite south end places to go. I don't think the pond is very old and already a muskrat has made it's way over from the Green River and has taken up residence there. I also enjoyed the firebird posts.

So to the swift story. I picked up a bird book at 1/2 Price Books called Dial B for Birder by Lola Oberman. I worked yesterday and as part of my day I had to swing by Harborview Medical Center and noticed a very large chimney nearby which made me wonder if swifts utilize this beautiful old chimney. So I already had swifts on the brain when I read one of her stories in her book last night. In an effort to find out where swifts migrated to, massive numbers of them were banded in the 30's and there was no recovery until the early 40's when native Indians of Peru were found to be wearing necklaces beaded with the tiny swift bands. I thought this was a very interesting story and worth passing on.
