A note on butterflies seen from Summerland to Nickel Creek - August 8-10.
Mormon Fritillaries were very common - one mating pair seen in the meadows
of Indian Bar. Blues included Boisduval's (numerous), Anna's (several), and
one of the Buckwheat Blue (Euphilotes sp.) complex near Eriogonum
ovalifolium (this may be the westernmost record of this genus in
Washington). Others: Milbert's Tortoiseshell, Western White, Arctic
(numerous) and Western Meadow (or Pacific) Fritillaries.
