Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report

The shorebird movement is now peaking and other species are flocking. On
August 10 a BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER was among a migrant flock of warblers
along the Crooked River near Culver.

On August 9 a MOCKINGBIRD and an adult PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER were on the
North Spit of Coos Bay. A RED PHALAROPE was flying over Bayocean Beach at
Tillamook Bay August 11.

On Sauvie Island August 12 eleven WHITE PELICANS were on Sturgeon Lake and
58 GREAT EGRETS were on Grassy Lake on the west side of the Island. At the
Vanport Wetlands in North Portland August 12 were three BAIRD?S and ten
PECTORAL SANDPIPERS. On August 8 two FORSTER?S TERNS were at the Tualatin
NWR near Sherwood. Seven FORSTER?S TERNS are now at Fern Ridge Reservoir
near Eugene. A WHITE-HEADED WOODPECKER was at Summit Lake in eastern
Clackamas County August 13. Among the many shorebirds south of Albany August
12 was a BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER in full breeding plumage.

An adult male BLACK-CHINNED HUMMINGBIRD was at a Sisters feeder August 11.
On August 8 a FRANKLIN?S GULL and two RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS were at Tumalo
Reservoir west of Bend. On August 11 a WHITE-FACED IBIS was there.

A number of female RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRDS and a few BLACK-CHINNED HUMMERS were
at Malheur NWR Headquarters over the week-end. There were many BANK SWALLOWS
scattered all through the refuge and a RED-TAILED HAWK movement was noticed
along Steens Mountain.

That?s it for this week.
