Hello All,

MerryLynn and I just spent our 16th wedding anniversary sorting through thousands of seabirds between the North Jetty of the Columbia and Klipsan Beach. Numbers were big! Here are a few........

Brown Pelican......623 birds on the beach loafing at the north jetty on 16 Aug.

Sooty Shearwater.......100,000+ off the beach in front of the edgewater inn. Passing at 350+ birds per min. for 45 min..

Heermanns Gull.......485+ passed The North Head Light in 30 min..

Parasitic Jeager.......2 birds off North Head Light

Common Murre........2200+ off the North Head Light headed in both directions up and down the coast.

Marbled Godwit......21 off Long Beach flying south.

Pink-footed Shearwater......2 off Long Beach.

Outstanding weather and no wind to speak of.
Later Mike
