On Sunday, Sherry Thiel and I birded the White Pass Campground at Leech
Lake and then hiked to Deer Lake and then on to Sand Lake. Warbler
migration was on, as we had 6 species of warblers with good numbers of
Yellow Rumps. Our tally for the White Pass area was 35 species.

Yellow Rumped Warbler - many
Townsend Warbler - 6
Nashville Warbler - 3 (1 at Leech Lake 2 at Deer Lake)
MacGillivrays Warbler - 2
Yellow Warbler - several
Orange Crowned Warbler - several
Western Tanager - several
Chipping Sparrow - several
Red Crossbill
Red Breasted Nuthatch - many
Vaux's Swift - many
Western Woodpewee - several
Spotted Sandpiper - 3 (2 at Deer Lake 1 at Sand Lake)
Ruddy Duck - 2 (at Sand Lake)
Turkey Vulture - 3 (1 at Leech Lake 1 at Randle 1 at Mossyrock Dam)
