I'm really enjoying an aluminum roof put on my house nearly two years ago. The
rock doves feel friendly about my two-story brick abode and deposit loads of
excess cargo when they sit on the roof of their mini-cliff. One good rain and I
have natural fertilizer on my landscaping plants. The roof is also great for the
rainbarrel water I use on plants during the summer droughts: No more sand to
filter out the tar from my old composite roof. Plus, because I plan to live here
forever and ever, I'll never need to re-roof again.

Good luck with the gulls,
Patricia

P.S. There was a life-size fake owl on the roof peak when I moved in. The birds
appreciated its highest-of-all perches qualities, but I received no letter of
complaint when I took it down.
