Tweeters,
We will be camping at Takhlakh Lake (west of Mt. Adams) beginning
this Thursday night. Any birding advice is welcome. (This is a
family camping trip, so I may very well be limited to where I can
walk to from the campground for a couple of hours in the a.m.)
We'll be approaching from Oregon, up I-5. In spite of every website
giving directions via Randle, I'm thinking it has to be shorter to go
to White Salmon, then north through Trout Lake and beyond. It's the
"and beyond" part I'm not sure about. Are the roads good from Trout
Lake? I have a GP NF map, but it's dated around 1992. We'll be
driving a loaded down Subaru Legacy wagon. Any advice would be
appreciated, including birding as well.
