Tweeters,
Well, it looks as if the OSPREYS at the Hamm's Creek site fledged sometime between last Friday afternoon and today. I did see an adult harassing a juvenile, but that could well have been birds from either upriver or down. Certainly nothing was visible at the nest site or on the nearby structures that the adults have used.

Not very productive, but considering that it was a high tide--just starting to ebb--it was still very nice. Lots of salmon jumping!

Note: In the early morning, I've seen many thousands of EUROPEAN STARLINGS leaving what appears to be a roost area to the southeast of S102nd (the area around the Riverfront Technical Park), which is just across (west) of the Duwamish. At least a few hundred of these dine on the ripening blackberries along each side of the river during the day.

Birds seen today include the following:

Double-crested Cormorant
Canada Goose (12)
Mallard (19)
Osprey (2)
Killdeer (2)
Least Sandpiper
Glaucous-winged Gull (4)
Caspian Tern (the first I've seen here since May)
Rock Dove (9)
American Crow (2)
Barn Swallow (9)
Black-capped Chickadee (2)
European Starling (>200)
House Finch

May all your birds be identified,
