Wanted to report an unusual bird fatality incident I heard about from a
friend the other day. On July 31, he was up at 1200' (instrument reading)
above Marysville when the wing of his small aircraft struck what sounded
like a swift, especially a Black. He saw it making a last-second burst of
speed to escape at point-blank range but then heard it hit. Does anyone
know how typically swifts (or swallows) range this high?
