Checked out Ridgefield NWR this morning with Howard and Thais Armstrong looking for the Black Phoebe. It was raining while at the photo blind when we heard the Black Phoebe call across the road along the slough, but we were unable to visually locate the bird. We did however see 5+ Black-crowned Night-Herons, 1 being a juv., and a small flock of Long-billed Dowitchers, 3 Greater Yellowlegs, 2 White-breasted Nuthatches plus the normal molting ducks and Great Egrets. The American Restart wasn't seen either.. The only warbler species noted were 3 Orange-crowned Warblers.
