Hi Birders:
We observed the Baird's Sandpiper at Thomas Pond in Kent, WA again
today.
It wasn't there early in the morning, from what I understand, but
after waiting about 45 minutes or so scanning Lesser Yellowlegs,
Western and Least Sandpipers, and Killdeer, one of the fellows saw the
Baird's Sandpiper at about 9:45am. We all got on it as it scurried
about the center portion of the pond up on the mud. This is a
juvenile being very active. Almost as active as the nearby Lesser
Yellowlegs. We watched it for about 1/2 hour and it was still there
when I left.
