Tweeters,
Although the tide was coming in, the remaining exposed shoreline produced one new arrival: a juvenile LONG-BILLED DOWITCHER in (rather loose) company with three LEAST SANDPIPERS. Four GADWALL were the first seen since late Spring.

The tide was at the 6ft 6in level. I know that because someone has installed what I'll call a "tide tracker" (water height) on the pier opposite from where I normally view the river. While I was looking over the river from about 2:00-2:30pm, the tide rose 3in. (I'll have to mark my time a bit more closely to track the rate the tide is ebbing or flowing.) Salmon were jumping, and one harbor seal was in the area.

Birds seen include the following (guess I better check for name changes):

Double-crested Cormorant (2)
Canada Goose (33; lots more of these are on the river right now)
Gadwall (4)
Mallard (21)
Osprey (adult)
Killdeer (heard)
Least Sandpiper (3)
Long-billed Dowitcher
Rock Dove (9)
American Crow (3)
American Robin
European Starling (>30)
White-crowned Sparrow
House Finch
House Sparrow (3)

May all your birds be identified,
