Hello all,

The Vaux's Swifts have been observed recently funneling into the chimney at
the old customs house in Sumas. It's that time of year again.
I've videotaped this phenomenon a few times and it never fails to impress
those who see it for the first time.

For those not familiar with this building, it's the old, historic US Customs
House that was moved a few years ago to make way for the expansion of the new
facilities at the border crossing in Sumas. The move was accomplished in the
winter when the swifts were down south. Collective fingers were crossed and
when spring came and the swifts returned, they adjusted to the move and never
missed a beat!

A sweet success story, indeed.

Cheers,
