Set Classic to launch whenever you log in. After the initial launch
(once a day if you log out daily), there is no cost or drawback to
running any program that runs in OS 9.x (OS X doesn't have the memory
management issues that the earlier systems do). OS 9.x programs open
as fast (or faster) as they would if you were running them in 9.x.

Hope this helps.
