At the Thomas Pond this evening, myself and quite a few others observed
numbers of Western and Least Sandpipers, more than I have seen here in the
last few weeks. There were up to three juvenile Semipalmated Plovers in the
quickly evaporating puddle, two juv. Baird's Sandpipers, and two juv.
Semipalmated Sandpipers. A young female-sized Peregrine Falcon put on an
impressive show for a few brief minutes upon my arrival, nearly catching a
shorebird several times right over our heads. It flushed about half of the
peeps, which seemed to fly off to the south and west.
