Well, I've finally made it to Cornell and have settled in. It truly is the phenomenal place everybody told me it would be. Last night I viewed Mars from the Fuertes' Observatory along with many other excited science-types . . . I fit right in! Haven't been able to do too much birding yet, though I did see a family of Sharp-tailed Grouse and a gorgeous male Golden-winged warbler (both new birds) on the 3600 mile drive cross-country. Anyway, just wanted to let my home birding companions that my new e-mail address will be tpd22 at cornell.edu.
