Tweeters,
1:43pm start - water level at 1ft 5in
2:03pm end - water level at 2t

I had a problem identifying a small gull (relative to the usual Glaucous-winged Gulls) that was feeding on the mud picking up invertebrates. At first I thought it had black legs and a black bill. Sorta grayish head markings, no auricular patch. After I went back at 2:45pm to see it in a slightly different light, the black bill turned to not-black; not remarkable when you consider that the substrate on which it had been feeding was very dark. Sooo, what I thought was aberrant, really wasn't, but it was the first MEW GULL I'd seen since Spring. (The legs, though not black, were rather grayish.) When last seen, it was sitting on the drier "beach" above the incoming tide.

Birds seen include the following:
Double-crested Cormorant (2)
Great Blue Heron
Canada Goose (41)
Mallard (8)
Osprey (2; both adults; on the west power tower)
Killdeer (2)
Mew Gull
Glaucous-winged Gull (4)
Rock Pigeon (6)
American Crow (2)
Black-capped Chickadee (2)
European Starling (>30)

May all your birds be identified,
