In case anyone is thinking of going out to Spencer Island (Everett) in the
next month or so.... The access road to the island is closed while the
Army Corps of Engineers does some work on the dike. The person in the
office says the work will go on until at least the end of September, and
may continue into early October. You can still get in there by walking
around on the paved path by the river, but it's a long way around.
