Salutations,
A trip to Sequim was very productive today. At the horse-farm ponds
just east and across the street from the Three Crabs Restaurant in Sequim there
were the following shorebirds:
1 juv. Ruff ( by size a female, thus a Reeve)
2 juv. Pectoral Sandpipers
1 juv. Baird's Sandpiper
1 molting adult Long-billed Dowitcher
20 juv. Western Sandpipers
2 juv. Least Sandpipers
4 Killdeer
I first found the Ruff at 3:45 pm Saturday, August 30th. Russell
Rogers, who lives in Sequim, went back with me and we relocated the bird at 4:30
pm. Russell's telephone number is 360-582-3781. He was going back to try to
get a photo and will have more up-to-date information about the bird than I
have, but feel free to call for directions or more information.
Good birding,
