Was down there for a couple hours this eve, numbers are way down from what
was reported earlier this week and last. It was my first (and probably
only) visit, can't comment on the water level, etc., except to say that it
definitely is many small puddles amidst the mud.

A lone Semi-palmated Plover, it came close enough for me to see the little
bit of webbing between its toes, that was cool.

Baird's, 6 or so

Actually, there was one bird hanging out in the puddles at the end where
those big pipes are. Looked at it for a long time, at first thinking it was
a juvenile Sharp-tailed S'piper (very buffy and rufousy look to the bird in
certain light) but finally deciding (ha!) a juvenile Pectoral S'piper. It
had a well-defined edge to the streaking on its breast, lacked an eye ring,
and the base of its bill (on both mandible and culmen) was lighter than the
rest of it. I hope the bird is there tomorrow and that someone else sees it
and can confirm or refute my conclusion (am kinda "shorebird-challenged,"
just don't grok them).
