Late this AM I took a little stroll along the Wolf Nature Trail at Discovery
Park in Seattle. What a cool little trail! Takes you into a forested area
w/a typical Puget Sound understory, deciduous and evergreen trees, a little
stream, and a kind of boggy area. This wasn't really a "birding" trip, more
of a meander thru the woods, but you know how that goes, you can never stop
birding.

Anyway, what really surprised me was the number of calling Brown Creepers.
It sounded as if there were five or six spread along the trail, and all of
them kept up a pretty constant racket. It was a lot of fun to watch their
flit down, creep up behavior. Anyone know if what seemed to be a large
number of creepers in a relatively small area is common? Don't think I've
ever seen/heard so many at one time.
