Tweeters,
My wife and I checked out Spencer Spit St. Park on
Lopez Island in the San Juans this morning. We were
walking the north side of the spit during an outgoing
tide at 10:30 a.m. when we found a gull flock roosting
on the gravelly shore. A single juvenile FRANKLINS
GULL was the most conspicuous bird in the flock of six
different gull species. Other species seen: Mew,
Ring-Billed, Glaucous-Winged, California, and a single
Bonaparte's.
