Hi Tweeters:
The Sullivan's recent reports on birding in Ocean Shores have prompted me to add my observations made during a visit by my wife and me to Ocean Shores on Nov. 21 to Nov. 27. The few sightings that I wish to relate will be given chronologically. On
Nov. 22, a Great egret was present on the game range behind the sewage plant. Also on that day, I first noted the Gyrfalcon seen later by the Sullivans. It was seen again on Nov. 24, when it chased a flock of Green-winged teal around the countryside. I was unable to determine whether it made a kill or not. There were two Peregrines around that day but they never interacted with the Gyr that I could tell. While I also saw the G. White-fronted goose at the sewage plant on Nov. 26, on that day and the day before, there were 13 White-fronted geese on the O.S. golf course. The Ruff, Ruddy turnstone, and Glaucous gull were not present. On Nov. 27, I had a 5 grebe day. I saw the two Eared grebes near the water tower, two Pied-billed grebes near the Cabana pool, and a Red-necked grebe, two Horned grebes, and five Western grebes in the marina. Other than these few sightings, my observations were pretty much like those submitted by the Sullivans.

Cheers,
