In response to Ilene, I'll also be in SE AZ this month and will be joining a
Tucson Audubon trip on Dec. 13. If Ilene hasn't found it already, there is a
website for the SE AZ Bird Observatory. They have a guide to birding
hotspots.

I too am interested in anything anyone has to share about that area. I've
never been there before.

Also, just to confirm previous postings, Terry LeLievre and I looked for the
Snow Bunting at Ediz Hook Saturday afternoon, Nov. 29. We walked a good
portion of the hook and saw a Song Sparrow and House Finches, but no Snow
Bunting (we did see a good assortment of shore- and seabirds, including
Common Loons, Harlequin Ducks, Red-breasted Mergansers, Buffleheads, and
Black Turnstones).

At the grassy headland adjacent to the west border of Dungeness Recreation
Area we saw a female Northern Harrier and Short-eared Owl. Looking down on
the strait (which was becalmed), we observed a good assortment of sea birds
(including Long-tailed Ducks and Black Scoters).

Hi All,

I am looking to do some birding in SE AZ from 12/26 - 1/5. I have the bird
finding guide put out by Tucson Audubon which seems quite good. I'd love to
hear about any great places that can be recommended for this time of year.
