Tweeters,
A few minutes into this short scan I noticed the splashes from raindrops on the river to the south and to the west, and then the cold shower hit me. The shower didn't seem to bother either the COMMON GOLDENEYE feeding within 20 yards of me, nor the PEREGRINE FALCON on its perch atop the power tower on the east bank. The iridescent purple-blue of the Common Goldeneye's head color (augmented by a stray shot of sunlight through the clouds) was a brilliant counterpoint to the slate-gray of the river, which seemingly has lost its load of mud from the rain this past weekend. Note: Although I saw Barrow's Goldeneyes last winter here, I didn't report them, nor do I have that sighting in my records. I'd not seen a Common Goldeneye here before.

I enjoyed seeing the falcon once again. Pigeons and Starlings beware!

Birds seen during this scan include the following:

Gadwall (2; m/f)
Common Goldeneye (m)
Double-crested Cormorant (7)
Peregrine Falcon
Glaucous-winged Gull (3)
Rock Pigeon (22)
Belted Kingfisher
American Crow
Bewick's Wren

May all your birds be identified,
