I have heard that Quitobaquito and other nearby desert waterholes within the Oregon Pipe Cacus National Monument are musts for birders. Also, Sonoyta, Mexico, two miles south of the border is said to be productive. I have Richard A. Wilt's 1976, Birds of Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, which lists brief occurrence accounts for 254 species.
