Hello, this is the Audubon society of Portland Rare bird Report. This report
was made Thursday December 4. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

On December 1 a MANX SHEARWATER and two ANCIENT MURRELETS were off Boiler
Bay. The heavy migrations noted here the past several weeks is tapering off..

On November 26 a SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER and over 500 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS
were off Millicoma Marsh at Coos Bay. On November 28 four RED KNOTS were on
Coos Bay near Empire. On November 27 a GLAUCOUS GULL was at Yachats and a
LONG-TAILED DUCK was near the Sea Lion Caves. A ROCK SANDPIPER was at Seal
Rock State Park November 30. A HARRIS?S SPARROW is now coming to a Seaside
feeder and a TROPICAL KINGBIRD is in Gearhart. A large flock of SNOW
BUNTINGS is being seen along Clatsop Beach north of Gearhart.

A SAY?S PHOEBE was at Bybee Lake in North Portland November 25. The next day
a YELLOW WARBLER was seen there, and on November 27 two LONG-TAILED DUCKS
were there. On December 2 two BARROW?S GOLDENEYES and some VIOLET-GREEN
SWALLOWS were at Bybee Lake. A RED-SHOULDERED HAWK continues to be seen
there and a WHITE-TAILED KITE was there one day. On November 25 two SWAMP
SPARROWS were at Oaks Bottom in Portland.

A BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON was at Jackson Bottom in Hillsboro November 30.
A BLACK PHOEBE is being seen south of Dayton where it nested last summer. On
November 30 two SURF SCOTERS were near Peoria south of Corvallis. The
BURROWING OWL that wintered along Blueberry Lane near Halsey last winter was
back by November 27. A PALM WARBLER and a BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLER were
at Fern Ridge Reservoir November 30. An AVOCET was there November 27. A TREE
SPARROW was there November 28. Nine TURKEY VULTURES were south of Fern Ridge
November 26.

A SNOW BUNTING was at the top of Grizzly Butte near Prineville November 28.
On December 1 it was joined by five ROSY-FINCHES. A late HARRIS?S SPARROW
was at Malheur NWR Headquarters November 28.
