Tweeters,

I revisited an old running route of mine in Newcastle looking for the
Waxwings that Rob Conway saw and reported this morning. I found the
apple tree and had two quick flyovers of what were the right size and
numbers of birds. But I don't think I can even call this a BVD-(Better
View Desired).

200 yards east of there, on a dead end road, I found another apple tree
that had a Red-brested Sapsucker. I wasn't aware that they stayed year
round. I also saw another bird attracted to the apples, that I know
doesn't, a hummingbird. It remains unidentified. One of those gone
before you can get your optics up.

Wednesday at the NE corner of Kent's Kent Ponds I saw a Northern Shrike
and a male Redhead, which I believe had both been reported before. I
also had a fairly low flyby of a Gyrfalcon.

Tomorrow it's off to Montana to check up on a Siberian Accentor.
