I was bird watching with my friends in the Snohomish - Monroe area yesterday, the 7th of December. The Gyrfalcon and the Harris Sparrow seen last week were playing the hiding game, much to the disappointment of my friends . They had to settle for an immature Peregrine Falcon instead .

We proceeded to the Two Rivers/Crescent Lake WR south of Monroe in search of the Swamp Sparrow , that was reported by Mr. Breece. The Swampers were also in a hiding mood . However, a patient parsing of the sparrows present lead to an American Tree Sparrow in addition to the usual suspects . This bird was seen just south of 203rd street SE and by the pathway & gate that leads to the corn fields . This is the same area that Mr. Breece saw the Swamper .
