Hello Tweeters, today I finally tried to see the Pink-footed Geese (add one
more to your total Ruth!) that have been hanging around Hoquiam. I checked
the area around the Hoquiam STP and Bowerman Field with no luck. The
Hoquiam STP pond did have lots of activity on it with large numbers of
Canvasback present as noted by Ruth and Patrick Sullivan on December 6. I
also noted one male Hooded Merganser on the pond today. Bufflehead, Scaup,
and Common Goldeneye were in good numbers on the pond too.

My next stop was the end of K street where I found a flock of 20 or so
Canada Geese. After scanning through the Canadas, I was happy to be able to
pick out the 2 Greater White-fronted Geese and 2 Pink-footed Geese. I
studied the Pink-footed Geese for a short time and then moved on. I saw the
geese at 12:30pm today. They are sure incredible birds!

Good birding,
