Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday December 11. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls
at 503-233-3976

On December 9 a probable WHITE WAGTAIL was heard calling as it flew south
over Clatsop Beach north of Gearhart. The Gearhart TROPICAL KINGBIRD is
still being seen.

A COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, seven SWAMP SPARROWS, and four WHITE-THROATED
SPARROWS are now at Millicoma Marsh in Coos Bay. Two RED KNOTS, a RUDDY
TURNSTONE, and four LONG-TAILED DUCKS are on Coos Bay. The PACIFIC
GOLDEN-PLOVER continues to be seen at the South Jetty of the Columbia River..

Up to 13 TRUMPETE SWANS are now on Sauvie Island and one was near Forest
Grove December 8. On December 7, 144 GREAT EGRETS were in Scappoose Bottoms..
A subadult male COSTA?S HUMMINGBIRD was at a Portland feeder December 6. A
SWAMP SPARROW was in Oaks Bottom in Portland December 9. A REDHEAD was at
Jackson Bottom in Hillsboro that day. Thirty CANVASBACK and over 200
RING-NECKED DUCKS are at the Fernhill wetlands.

On December 6 a SAY?S PHOEBE was along Livermore Road north of Baskett
Slough NWR. On December 5 a COMMON YELLOWTHROAT was at Hills Creek Dam near
Oakridge. On December 9 a WESTERN TANAGER was at a Roseburg feeder.
