Kerri,
I've been having Song sparrows pigging out on my suet blocks this year,
too. Also saw a Fox Sparrow, Steller's Jays, Downy Woodpeckers, numerous
Black-capped Chickadees, also Chestnut-backed Chickadees, Juncoes,
hoards of Common Bushtits, and Flickers; all these eating the suet! I
even saw both species of kinglets and a Townsend's Warbler looking
hopefully at dining possibilities on my 4th floor (top floor) condo deck
bordering Seahurst Park in Burien. The suet is a high energy food source
in this chilly winter weather, but this is my first year of seeing
native sparrow species (Song, Fox and Juncoes) eating it.
Cheers to all, me2
