I realized upon reading the posted sighting report that Marie
Agun lives less than three miles from our place. I spent from 9:30AM to
1:00PM and from 2:00 to 4:00 PM watching Marie's feeders in hope that I
could see this bird. I saw SHARP-SHINNED HAWK, DOWNY WOODPECKER, PILEATED
WOODPECKER, NORTHERN FLICKER, SPOTTED TOWHEE, SONG SPARROW, DARK-EYED
JUNCO, HOUSE FINCH, PINE SISKIN, and HOUSE SPARROW, but no bunting. When
I talked to Marie this evening she said that it had been traveling with a
flock of House Finches. While I was there I saw no flocks of these
finches just a few pair, so the bird may not have come in to the feeders
today. There were at least two different Sharp-shinneds that I saw take
three separate birds today (none of them were white).
