I checked for the bird again Sunday morning after Marie called to
say it was present again. Since there was a couple of inches of snow on
the ground there were more of every type of species that were there
yesterday including some not seen on Saturday. I saw and photographed the
bird in a fairly heavy snowstorm and it is an albino HOUSE FINCH. It is
the most perfect albino House Finch I have seen right down to a pink
bill. Other birds present today were SHARP-SHINNED HAWK, NORTHERN
FLICKER, STELLER'S JAY, WESTERN SCRUB-JAY, RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH,
AMERICAN ROBIN, VARIED THRUSH, SPOTTED TOWHEE, SONG SPARROW, HOUSE FINCH,
PINE SISKIN and HOUSE SPARROW. I thank Marie for posting the sighting of
this bird as we all would rather chase a bird that turns out to be
something else than not to chase and find out about a possible rarity
after the fact.
